Two Calgary men, who are wanted for separate killings, remain on Canada’s most wanted list, according to authorities. Talal Amer, who is wanted for manslaughter in connection to the death of Angela McKenzie, was added to the list in 2022. Amer is also wanted for six other related warrants connected to the shooting that began when police responded to two vehicles that were driving erratically on 36 Street S.E. in May 2022. The occupants of the vehicles were shooting at each other and eventually collided with two uninvolved vehicles, one of which McKenzie was driving, causing her death. Meanwhile, Kier Bryan Granado is also on the list for murder in connection to the death of Hussein Merhi in 2015.

According to police, Merhi was found suffering from gunshot wounds in an alley in the 100 block of Del Ray Road N.E. in Calgary and was pronounced dead at the scene. Joseph Trieu, 26, of Calgary, was subsequently arrested and charged with accessory after the fact of murder. Granado, who is wanted for first-degree murder in the fatal shooting, has been on the most wanted list since 2021 and is still being sought by police.

Police believe that both cases are related to organized crime-related violence, and they suspect that there are people in Calgary and Toronto who have helped Granado evade police. Police urge the public to provide any information they have about these individuals or the incidents they are alleged to have committed.

Despite the amount of time that has passed since the incidents, police say they will not rest until the suspects and anyone who has assisted them are held accountable. Anyone with information about these suspects is urged to contact Calgary police or Crime Stoppers.
