Uber Canada has released its annual Lost & Found Index, revealing some of the weirdest items passengers have left behind in their vehicles. While clothes, bags, and phones top the list of the most commonly forgotten items, riders have also lost everything from frozen burgers to ping pong tables. The top 10 most frequently forgotten items include articles of clothing, backpacks or bags, phones, headphones, jewelry, wallets or purses, vapes or e-cigarettes, laptops, watches, and umbrellas.

However, some of the unique items left behind by passengers include a pizza, a set of teeth, and a mattress cover. Meanwhile, one person in Winnipeg left behind their stove, while a passenger in Montreal lost a photo of the late rapper 2Pac. The most forgetful city was found to be Montreal, followed by Hamilton and Vancouver, with Edmonton, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Winnipeg not far behind.

Uber’s data shows that Jan. 1, 2023, was the “most forgetful day” in Canada in the last 12 months, and Sundays at 6 p.m. were the “most forgetful day” on average. If you’re one of the forgetful passengers who left something behind, Uber advises following its guide to retrieve your item.

The ride-hailing giant has been on a mission to improve customer service and make sure riders have a good experience. Last year, it launched a “mask verification” feature to ensure passengers and drivers are wearing masks during the ride, and it also introduced a “no mask, no ride” policy. Uber has also implemented various safety measures, including background checks for drivers and a feature allowing riders to share their trip with friends and family.
