WASHINGTON – The United States will implement a deal reached with Canada aimed at stopping asylum seekers from entering their shared land border via unofficial crossings on Saturday, according to a final rule published in the U.S. Federal Register.

The rule, published on Friday, says the expanded U.S.-Canada pact will apply to people who claim asylum within 14 days of crossing the border.
