WWE Superstars are no strangers in mainstream stints in different industries and Arianna Grace from the NXT roster is the latest inclusion to the list. While staying away from television due to an injury, she’s exploring a new venture. Recently, she took to Twitter to announce participating in Miss Universe Canada,
“Excited to share I will be competing in this years Miss Universe Canada!!!!! thankful to my work place for allowing me to do this while rehabbing my injury.”
The Miss Universe Canada pageant is set to take place in May of this year which essentially confirms that Arianna Grace is nowhere near returning to the WWE in due course. The winner of this beauty contest will be sent to the Miss Universe pageant.
For those who don’t know, Arianna Grace is the daughter of former WWE Intercontinental, United States, and Tag Team Champion Santino Marella. She has had quite a few appearances on WWE NXT and WWE NXT Level Up since joining WWE, last year as part of the 2022 WWE Performance Center class recruit that also included other names on NXT like Roxanne Perez and the former “2 Dimes” Troy Donovan.
Arianna Grace made a few appearances on WWE NXT TV
Slowly but steadily, Arianna Grace was picking up momentums in her favor by participating in matches on WWE NXT TV. Although she didn’t receive tons of TV time, WWE did include her to the NXT Breakout Tournament but she was eliminated in the first round by Nikkita Lyons. Plus, she also took part in a 20-woman battle royal on a July episode of NXT.
At present, Arianna Grace has been out of action after tearing an ACL and meniscus in her knee last October. The young talent needed to undergo subsequent undergo surgery to fix the injury. The recovery time for this kind of injury ranges from 9 to 12 months for most athletes. Santino Marella, noted in an interview last November that his daughter was “hopeful for a spring return to the ring.”
It’s not clear whether Arianna Grace’s participation in the Miss Universe Canada will affect her anticipated return on NXT. Whenever it happens, his father believes it will be good for her daughter to wrestle on her own with a separate name that doesn’t have an association with the family. This is something as opposed to “getting a free pass because of who her parents are” and it’s admittedly “great” for her.
