Nick Cannon criticizes «toxic» Red Table Talk after cancellation

Nick Cannon has shared his thoughts on the recent cancellation of Jada Pinkett Smith’s talk show, “Red Table Talk”. Facebook Watch announced earlier this week that it would no longer stream the popular show, after deciding to shut down all of its original programming. Cannon referred to the talk show as “that toxic table” on his new radio show, “The Daily Cannon”, adding that “too much honesty can get your ass slapped in the face”. He also referenced the incident at the 2022 Oscars where Will Smith slapped Chris Rock for making a joke about Pinkett Smith.

Cannon expressed his admiration for Will and Jada, calling them royalty, but said he didn’t want to know all the details about their personal lives. Pinkett Smith took to Instagram to reveal that “Red Table Talk” is now searching for a new home. In her post, she expressed gratitude for the show’s partnership with Facebook Watch and wished the team well in their new journeys.

The cancellation of “Red Table Talk” has been met with disappointment from fans of the show. The talk show, which started in 2018, has gained a loyal following due to its honest conversations about relationships, mental health, and social justice issues. The show has featured guests such as Gabrielle Union, Alicia Keys, and Demi Lovato.

The end of “Red Table Talk” on Facebook Watch comes as the platform announced it would be shifting its focus to «more sustainable ways to support creators and artists» and focusing on new features like video calling and gaming. While fans are hopeful that the show will find a new home, it remains to be seen where it will land and if it will continue to offer the same raw and honest discussions that have made it so popular.
