Canada’s top 25 most wanted criminals have been revealed, with rewards totaling over $750,000 for information leading to their arrest. The announcement was made at a news conference for BOLO in Yonge-Dundas Square on Monday. Among the wanted is Cristian Adolfo Cuxum, who is being sought for the death of soccer referee Edwin Farley Alvarado Quintero, who was shot during a game in October 2021. Two soccer players were also left with «life-altering» injuries. A reward of $250,000 has been made available for Cuxum’s capture.

At the news conference, Quintero’s widow, Alexandra Alvarado, made a plea to Cuxum to turn himself in. «To the man who took [Edwin’s] life: You destroyed us. You destroyed our family,» Alvarado said. «You cannot make that right. But if you turn yourself in, you will allow us to take our next step forward in this nightmare.»

BOLO is a non-profit organization that works with law enforcement agencies and the media to generate tips from the public that can help solve serious crimes. The group has successfully assisted in the arrest of several wanted individuals in Canada.

The top 25 most wanted list includes suspects wanted for crimes ranging from murder to fraud, and the rewards for information leading to their arrest range from $5,000 to $250,000. BOLO is encouraging anyone with information on the whereabouts of any of the wanted individuals to come forward.

BOLO’s founder, retired Toronto police detective Jim Downs, stressed the importance of community involvement in solving crimes. «We know that there are people in the community that know where these individuals are,» Downs said. «It’s time to give them up.»
