The Canadian men’s basketball team wrapped up FIBA World qualifying action with a 74-57 win over host Venezuela on Sunday.

The result comes two days after the Canadian men suffered their first loss in World Cup qualifying, falling 83-27 to Argentina.

Canada, which went 17-1 in qualifying, had already qualified for the World Cup this summer in Japan, the Philippines, and Indonesia, having clinched the top spot in Group E. Canada will begin the tournament’s group stage in Jakarta.

The Canadians will join Venezuela, Dominican Republic, USA, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Brazil as the seven countries will represent the Americas at the World Cup.

Kalif Young and Phil Scrubb led Canada with 14 points each against Venezuela.
